Until a mug shot or a photo can be taken, sometimes a police sketch is all the police and the general public has to go on while hunting for a suspect. You’d usually assume that because a police sketch is such an important part of undergoing investigations that a department would want to make sure that they’re working with skilled and accurate artists. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes, police departments are stuck working with artists who last made an impression in the fifth grade.
